Jessie Ware was one of the surprise success stories of this year. I first saw her live supporting Alabama Shakes way back in February. It was her first ever live show and I didn’t think she was completely there yet. It took me a while to get into her but by summer I was addicted to ‘110%’. Her effortless vocals teamed with the unique beats which back her make for something bordering on trip-pop, but ultimately is her own sound.

This record is well rounded, smooth, sexy and full of incredible songwriting. She doesn’t over do it which is why it works so well. Like I said earlier, everything about Jessie Ware seems effortless.

Highlights of the record include the opening track ‘Devotion’, ‘Running’, the incredibly 90’s groove sounding ‘Sweet Talk’ and still my favourite ‘110%’. It’s not perfect from start to finish, I particularly don’t like ‘Night Light’ but overall this is an incredible debut.

Best tracks: 110%, Devotion, Running, Wildest Moments, Sweet Talk
