I featured Sansa in a post the other day after hearing a cover she did of Sabrina’s Summertime Love (Boys Boys Boys). She managed to make the 80’s pop hit gorgeously dreamy. Since then I have been lucky enough to hear her debut album and really like it, so I thought she could be the next new treat.
Sansa is from Finland, and released her debut album Saviour in her home country last year. The record will be released in the UK this coming May. The recor d is made up of soft folky tracks sprinkled with chilled disco beats. Many of the songs sound like they were written to be huge dance tracks but have been stripped back into this Sansa style. It would be interesting to see how some of them would sound remixed by dance acts, especially the song Waiting for the Sky which sounds like it is bursting to explode into a dancefloor filler.
Other highlights of the record include Black Brick Wall and the title track Saviour. Have a listen, it’s lovely.
