Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition Judge!

This year, 2011, I am going to be one of the 40 UK bloggers who will be judging the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition! I am incredibly excited about this, it was wonderful to be asked and I can’t wait to get started. It will involve me listening to lots of the acts that enter the competition and then choosing my favourites who will then be wittled down by a panel of judges including Michael and Emily Eavis and the top 10 will play at the Pilton Working Men’s club in April, before the final winner is announced. That winner will then get the opportunity to play one of the main stages at Glastonbury- a fantastic opportunity for an emerging band. Past winners include The Subways, Stornoway, Scouting for Girls, We have Band and last years winners Ellen and the Escapades.

Go to the Glastonbury website to find out more and how to enter if you are an artist! I will be blogging some of my journey through the judging so watch out for that. There is also 39 other lovely bloggers who will be judging the competition with me. The list can be found on the link above to the Glastonbury website and includes the likes of Anika in LondonFor Folk’s SakeBreaking More Waves, We Write Lists and Wears the Trousers. All wonderful blogs!

Heres a a few videos of past winners…

Currently in the middle of writing a massive Ones to Watch for 2011 post, hopefully that will come later today!

  2. Hi there,

We are 5-piece acoustic band from London and would love to play at Glastonbury 2011. We have entered the Emerging Talent Competition and hope you like the sound of us.

  3. I saw this great new completely original band at the barfly and at the proud galleries in london and plan on seeing them again. They put on two great live shows full of energy and meaning and seem to be racking up gigs left right and centre at some great venues.
    Heres their link:
Try and see if they have applied as i think they would put on a great set.

  4. we have entered the emerging talent competition and look forward to you hearing us! Koocha
