Review: Ellen and the Escapades at Oporto, Leeds!

I first saw Ellen and the Escapades supporting Fanfarlo and First Aid Kit at the Brudenell Social Club, and since then I cannot get enough. They were also my new treat a few weeks back so check that out. So last Tuesday (8th december) I headed back to Leeds to see them perform there last gig of the year! Supported by Sam Airey, who was very good, Johnny Flynn meets James Morrison?, and Paul Thomas Saunders, who I too enjoyed. However, as with the Fanfarlo/First Aid Kit gig, Ellen stole the show. She sang through many songs worthy of a brilliant album with a few covers slotted in, including a Fleetwood Mac cover. They are flawless live and deserve so much more success than they have already. This is my favourite of their videos on YouTube, its ‘Your to Keep’, listen with headphones if possible as the quality is better.
